Hoebel

E. Adamson Hoebel is Regents Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at the University of Minnesota. He holds the Ph.D. in anthropology from Columbia University. For a number of years, he taught anthropology at New York University and subsequently at the University of Utah, where he was also Dean of the University College (Arts and Sciences). He has served as a Fullbright Professor in anthropology at Oxford and law at Catholic University in Holland. He has done Field work among the Northern Cheyenne (1935 and 1936) and among the Comanche’s (1933, Northern Shoshone (1934), Pueblo Indians of New Mexico (1945-1949), and in the West Pakistan (1961).
