Talk:Hod (Hebrew)

are the meanings "India" and "glory" related, or are they just unrelated homophones within Hebrew? dab (ᛏ) 09:32, 11 May 2005 (UTC)
- If they appear in the Hebrew (nothing is co-incidental in the classical Hebrew language), then they are most certainly connected in meaning and "related". The idea is perhaps one of "India" being a "glorious" land. Even in latter-day history, Benjamin Disraeli considered modern India to be "the jewel in the crown" of the British Empire under Queen Victoria. It is still a land of mystic beauty and wealth in many ways, and a great prize for any empire to obtain and/or rule. IZAK 09:51, 11 May 2005 (UTC)
