Hocking Correctional Facility

Hocking Correctional Facility is an Ohio state prison located in Nelsonville, Ohio. This prison is used primarily to safely incarcerate the state's aging prison population. The prison was opened in 1983 and employs a staff of 167. The prison's operating budget for 2006 is $13,642,664; and the daily cost per inmate is $80.08. The prison, as of July 2006, currently houses 475 inmates. Of these: 113 are African American, 356 are Caucasian, and 6 are Latino.
