Hockeytown Café

Hockeytown Café is a restaurant in Detroit, Michigan. It is located in the city's Foxtown district near the Fox Theatre, State Theatre, and Comerica Park.

Hockeytown Café opened its doors in 1998 and is located at 2301 Woodward Ave., which is also the site of the City Theatre. The establishment is Detroit Red Wings themed and decorated with an assortment of hockey memorabilia. It also boasts numerous rare and vintage motorcycles, including a custom made Red Wings bike from Great American Choppers. The menu offers a variety of food items, from typical bar food to some house specialties.

  • The building that Hockeytown Café is located in was originally going to be the home of a new Hard Rock Cafe, however Red Wings owner Mike Ilitch, who owned the building, decided against putting the Hard Rock in there and decided to put his own restaurant there.[citation needed]
  • The singer of the popular local rock band The Bad Chemicals also works at Hockeytown Cafe in the City Theatre Box office/merchandise stand.
