Hobart United Football Club is one of ten Football (soccer) Clubs which represented Hobart in the Tasmanian Southern Premier League in 2006. The club also fielded an U19 team. Hobart United plays their home games at Pontville Oval in Brighton, Tasmania.
Hobart United played a two-legged play-off vs Taroona, the division 1 champions, following their last placed finish in this years Southern Premier League. Taroona won 7-1 on aggregate, and as a result, Hobart United will be relegated to division 1 for the 2007 season, and Taroona will take their place.
This club is well known for its diverse cultural base, fielding players from the heart of Africa, South America, and Europe.
