HMS Tulip (K29)

HMS Tulip K-29 was a Flower class corvette of the Royal Navy that served as a support vessel in various convoys and operations throughout the second world war. It was commissioned on 18th November, 1940, and constructed by Smiths Dock Co. Ltd. (South Bank-on-Tees, U.K.). She was launched on the 4th September, 1940.

1947: Sold.

1950: Rebuilt as a whaler (the Olympic Conqueror).

1954: Taken on an expedition with Peruvian warships.

1956: Sold to Japan and renamed Otori Maru #8.

1957: Sold to Thor Dahl AS, renamed Thorlyn, laid up in Rotterdam.

1957-1962: Serviced as a whaler

1962: Laid up in Sandefjord.

1964: Sold and taken to Gothenburg, Sweden, where she was rigged down.

1965: Scrapped in Germany
