HMS Maidstone (1937)

HMS Maidstone was a submarine depot ship of the Royal Navy. Moored in Belfast harbour in the 1970s during the IRA campaign to act as a military base and as Her Majesty's Prison Maidstone (HMP Maidstone) for internees including Gerry Adams, some of whom managed an escape.
She was later broken up at Inverkeithing.
