HMS Bristol (1653)

HMS Bristol was the first ship to be given this name. It was launched by the English Royal Navy in 1653, and had 48 guns. In 1693 it underwent a full rebuild. In April 1709 it was captured by the French, but the British recaptured her 2 weeks later, at which time she was sunk.
