HMS Abdiel

HMS Abdiel has been the name of three Royal Navy ships, named after Abdiel, a Seraph in Milton's Paradise Lost.

  • HMS Abdiel (1915) - a Marksman class leader built by Cammell Laird, Birkenhead, laid down May 6, 1915, launched October 12, 1915, completed March 26, 1915, sold for scrapping 1936
  • HMS Abdiel (N21) — an exercise minelayer and minecountermeasures support ship. Completed 1967. Displacement 1,500 tons, 265 feet long with a beam of 38 feet and a complement of 77.
