HMCS Stormont (K327)

HMCS Stormont was a River class frigate which served in Second World War. She was launched on the 14th of July, 1943, and served as a convoy escort during the Battle of the Atlantic and in support of the D-Day landings.
After the war, she was deemed surplus and paid off on 7 November, 1945. In 1954, she was sold to Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis, who refit her and made her into his personal luxury yacht, the Christina, named after his daughter. After the elder Onassis died in 1975, Christina inherited the yacht, and gave her to the Greek government as a presidential yacht in 1978. She sailed as the Argo for a number of years, but was eventually allowed to deteriorate. In 1998, she was purchased by another Greek shipowner, John Paul Papanicolaou, who restored her and renamed her Christina O. She continues to sail to this day.
