The fourth ship to bear the name, HMAS Parramatta (FFH 154) is an Anzac class frigate, laid down by Tenix Defence Systems at Williamstown in Victoria on 5 June 1999. The vessel was launched on 17 June 2000, and commissioned on 4 October 2003.

The launching ceremony was overseen by Mrs Green, daughter of the executive officer of the second Parramatta, Lieutenant George Langford, who was mentioned in despatches for his participation in World War II.

In 2005, HMAS Parramatta was sent for 6 months service in the Persian Gulf, returning her 187 crew to Sydney on the 13th of April, 2006. During this duty period, her crew carried out 186 vessel boardings and security patrols. She was also involved in training of other vessels in the Iraq Coalition.^[1]
