HMAS Glenelg

HMAS Glenelg (J-236/M-236), commissioned on 16 November 1942 and named for the locality of Glenelg in South Australia, was a Bathurst class corvette laid down by the Cockatoo Docks and Engineering Company at Sydney in New South Wales. On 2 March 1942, it was launched on 25 September 1942 by Mrs. H. V. Evatt, wife of Doctor H. V. Evatt, Minister for External Affairs. HMAS Glenelg was paid off on 14 January 1946 and was sold for scrap to the Hong Kong Rolling Mills on 2 May 1957.
