The Hong Kong Institute of Accredited Accounting Technicians (HKIAAT) (formerly known as The Hong Kong Association of Accounting Technicians) was set up in 1988. We are the subsidiary of Hong Kong's only statutory licensing body of accountants, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

To meet business needs in Hong Kong and the Mainland by upholding and promoting the competencies of the Institute's members and students; to accredit relevant sub-degree qualifications; and to offer premier member and student services.

-To accredit persons whose employment wholly or partly comprises accountancy work but who have not qualified to be registered as Professional Accountants and who are to be known as Accounting Technicians. -To encourage and/or secure the training and professional education and to conduct examination in relation thereto. -To provide graduates with a chance for further development in the accounting field. -The Institute works in the interest of its members and students. We are here to support them throughout their careers and provide the resources and guidance necessary for an individual to advance in the accounting profession.

Types of membership: Associate Member (AAT) Requirement:At least one year of relevant accounting technician work experience or two years comprising of work experience and accounting study

Fellow Member (FAAT) Requirement:At least five years of relevant accounting technician work experience or at least two years of relevant accounting technician work experience plus a PBE qualification. Fellow Member (FAAT) same as an Accounting Degree.
