OK, what to do with this article? My thought is this should focus on two areas: (1) the emergence of early poetic traditions and language and (2) the various articles on Wikipedia focused on "National" poetries (e.g., British, Irish, Ottoman, etc.). On the National poetries, I think it should take an overarching view, looking not at the detail but instead at the interaction and development of the poetries at a higher level. I also think the article should tie in to the Years in poetry work set up by Stumps. Any thoughts before the serious work begins? Sam 16:03, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
