The Hiroshima International Animation Festival is the International Animation Festival for the World Peace presented biannually in Hiroshima, Japan. It was founded in 1985 and is one of the international animation festivals sponsored by ASIFA, (the Association International du Film d'Animation or International Animated Film Association).

The four major International Animation Festivals are held in Annecy, Ottawa, Zagreb and Hiroshima.

The Grand Prize of the first year's festival was awarded to "Broken Down Film" by Osamu Tezuka and the animator became one of the members of the jury for the following festival.
