Hiraku Nakajima

Hiraku Nakajima (Japanese: 中島 啓 Nakajima Hiraku; born November 30, 1962) is a Japanese mathematician. He won the 2003 Cole Prize in algebra for his work on representation theory and geometry. He proved Nekrasov's conjecture.

  • 1985 - BA from Tokyo University.
  • 1987 - MA from Tokyo University. Becomes teaching assistant.
  • 1991 - PhD from Tokyo University.
  • 1992 - moves to Tohoku University. Becomes assistant professor.
  • 1995 - moves back to Tokyo University.
  • 1997 - moves to Kyoto University.
  • 2000 - full professor at Kyoto University.

  • 1997 - awarded the Geometry prize of the Japanese Math Society
  • 2000 - awarded the Spring prize of the Japanese Math Society
  • 2003 - awarded the Cole prize in algebra of the American Math Society
  • 2005 - awarded the JSPS prize of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science
