Hirakawa, Aomori

Hirakawa (平川市; -shi) is a city located in Aomori Prefecture in the Tohoku region of Japan.
The city was founded on January 1, 2006, as a result of the merger between the towns of Hiraka and Onoe and the village of Ikarigaseki (all from Minamitsugaru District).
As of 2005, the city has an estimated population of 35,338 and a density of 102 persons per km². The total area is 345.81 km².
