Hip hop directory
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hip Hop Directory (aka hiphopdirectory.com) is considered by many as the Grand Google of hip-hop on the internet.
Established and founded back on January of 2000 by James Stephens, Hiphopdirectory.com was created as a vision to create the first hip hop search engine that could cater to all things related to hip hop music and culture.
With thousands of links to choose from, Hiphopdirectory.com covers all hip hop content such as hip hop news, site reviews, audio content, jewelry, fashion, ringtones, hip hop radio, new artist release, concerts, the latest magazine contents, hip hop records & cd's, production, international hip hop, dj resources and much more.
The site also provides important and comprehensive sources such as music attorneys, record label listings and other industry related sources which are updated daily and maintained by a network of community based volunteers worldwide.
Currently, the Hiphopdirectory network has over 3,000 linked and verified member sites and utilizes it's listed membership as a global media outlet at a time when urban culture and it's various media outlets are increasingly becoming smaller and smaller due to acquisitions, buyouts and various strategic partnerships.
It was reported that the founder of Hiphopdirectory.com broke major history in the hip hop industry by selling hiphopweekly.com for an undisclosed amount. Some have stated that the sell of the website was valued at over $50,000 and was sold to David Mays and Ray "Benzino" Scott, the two proprietors who started The Source magazine as a means to launch their new magazine Hip Hop Weekly, a new entertainment magazine similar in the likes of US Weekly, and/or the National Enquirer that caters to the urban genre.
Hiphopdirectory.com also reviews various hip hop sites worldwide and provides various information and resources pertaining to such sites to the general public at the benefit of the visitors based on content, value, relevancy and design.
Hiphopdirectory.com is based within the United States.
