Mic Club Master Volume One (2005) |
Hip-Hop for $ale is an album by rapper Canibus. It was released on November 22, 2005, through his own label Mic Club Music in conjunction with Babygrande Records and Koch Entertainment. The album was originally produced entirely by Nottz, but other up-and-coming producers were included on the project as well, such as Jeff Wheeler, Jayswiftz, and Black Milk. The reason other producers were included was because in December of 2004, over half of the completed material was leaked in the form of a mixtape known as The Virtruvian Man Mixtape, causing extreme tension between Bis and Nottz. In an interview with Sohh.com in April, Nottz revealed he would no longer be working with him, saying Bis himself was the one who leaked the material, blaming it on his manager Louis Lombard III [1]. The record, which was originally slated to be released May 10, was pushed back so Bis could work on some new material for the record. Because Nottz had cut ties with him, Bis had to reach out to other producers.
