Kamadeva and Rati are the divine couple who are Hindu love Gods. Kaama is often pictured holding a bow of sugarcane and an arrow of flowers. He is usually accompanied by his friend Vasanta who is lord of the spring season. Parrot is the vehicle of Kaama.

Maara is the other name for Kaama. The Buddhist concept of Maara can be termed equivalent to Vedantic concept of Maaya in the sense that both hide the true nature if reality from the human mind.
