[edit] Will the real Kenjui please stand up?

Almost everything I read about Kenji is based on the false ending Seisouhen. In the manga, it's strongly inferred that Kenshin does not leave Kaoru and Kenji to go wandering again and does in fact, stay to raise his son. It also says that Kenji grows up to be "more twisted than Saitou and more conceited than Shishiou". So what's everyone's take on Kenji from the manga timeline? What kind of relationship do he and Kenshin have? I picture a close relationship when Kenji is younger (after he gets over the terrible twos where he didn't like his father much), but then the relationship might deteriorate as he gets older and wants to learn Hiten Mitsurugi-Ryu, which Kenshin is against. Things would get dicier when it's found that Kenji is able to pick it up just by hearing stories about it. Perhaps Kenshin forbids him to use it, which of course, will make Kenji want to use it all the more. One can only hope father and son make it through the hell that is adolescence.

[edit] Kenji and Hiko

Kenji, a student of Hiko Seijuro XIII? raised mostly by Hiko? No way! In Seisouhen, even though a teenage Kenji would like to learn Mitsurugi-Ryu from Hiko, Hiko would NOT teach him. Seven

(Note: It was incorrectly assumed here before that Chizuru was the inspiration for Kaoru as that the one-shot with her involved is released in the first volume of the manga, while instead it was the second one-shot and Watsuki just published them out of order, causing Kaoru to have been created first.) 12.4.149.134
