Hillel House

Hillel House is an establishment run by the Union of Jewish Students (UJS) to allow any Jewish student to study across the UK without compromising his or her religion. It is effectively a hall of residence with one rule: each resident must be Jewish.

Hillel House was named for the esteemed first-century rabbi Hillel the Elder.

As of March 2007, there are official Hillel Houses in the cities of Birmingham, Bournemouth, Brighton, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield and York.
