Hill Top, Cumbria

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hill Top is a 17th-century house located in Near Sawrey, Hawkshead, Ambleside, Cumbria, England, which once belonged to the children's writer Beatrix Potter, who wrote the Peter Rabbit books. She left the house to the National Trust. It is open to the public and has been left in the same state as when Potter lived there. The house was the inspiration for many illustrations in Potter's books, and something that appears in one of her books can be found in each room.
