Hilda of Luxembourg, Grand Duchess of Baden was the daughter of Adolf, reigning duke of Nassau, who was deposed in 1866.

She married in 1885 the future Frederick II, Grand Duke of Baden.

Her father became in 1890 reigning Grand Duke of Luxembourg.

Her marriage did not produce surviving children.

They were deposed as rulers in 1918 when all German monarchies were overthrown.

As Frederick and Hilda were without own direct heirs, they bequeathed their castle of Mainau to Fredrick's only sister's grandson, Count Lennart Bernadotte, who was Hilda's youngest aunt's great-grandson.
