Talk:Highways along the BosWash corridor

What does this mean: "Currently, travel from Washington, D.C. to Wilmington, Delaware is possible only by using U.S. 50". Wouldn't it be faster to take 95 or the Parkway via Baltimore to Wilmington?

[edit] Baltimore to Philly and Wilmington

Not sure why SPUI has an edit log comment about US 301 lanes when the section tagged is about US 1 lanes. But 301 is missing entirely from this section (personally I wish you'd leave it that way, it's one of the few peaceful ways left to go :).

I'll also assume the {{fact}} is to provide a ref that the dam is the reason they haven't widened the rest of US 1 in northeast MD. Traveling the Cecil County bit frequently, it hardly seems to need widening based on the light traffic I see (let all the traffic stay on I-95!). And they did widen the dam roadway a tiny bit back in the 80's (IIRC), except by the power house, where there is no place to widen it. There's a really scary looking door from the middle of the power house right into the northbound lane. It's usually open with a chain across it. Absolutely no shoulder there, your first step out the door would be your last. Guess there was less traffic in 1928.--J Clear 03:22, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Overhaul

I agree with NE2 on removing the non-encyclopedic content (NOTE: I WROTE THAT CONTENT MYSELF. I agree with its removal, as it is some of the worst writing I have done here.). Perhaps what this article should be is more of a list of important highways. Maybe 2 articles are needed: A list article and a history article. Any ideas? --Jayron32 05:37, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New York to Boston

I added a bit of a New York to Boston section to the article. This is hardly my best Wikipedia work, but in my experience sections are much more likely to get cleaned up once they get written in the first place. I will see what I can do to improve it, but I hope others will do so too. Adam 15:39, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Original Research?

A lot of the NY to Boston stuff is original research which Wikipedia does not allow. You did a good job but I regret to inform you that it is against Wikipedia's policy. Have a great day! Jgcarter 20:02, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
