" 36.64% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race."

With the current demographic trends and the continual crossing of the border by illegal aliens it will only be a matter of time when the population of the burgh will be nigh-on 100% Hispanic or Latino. Add in the lack of assimilation into the general American culture and prepare thineself for the area to merely be a northern extension of Mexcio.

[edit] A Different View Point

I could not disagree more with the previous comment about the community becoming 100% Hispanic or the "reasons" why. The previous comment is made without benefit of factual evidence or an understanding of the community.

I heard this city recently boycotted San Francisco. Maybe someone could research and update with this info?

Boycott is not quite the term for the action taken by the Highland City Council. Disappointed with San Francisco ballot measure to ban military recruiters from San Francisco high school campuses, the Highland City Council made the mainly symbolic gesture of barring Highland elected and government officials from using taxpayers funds to attend events in San Francisco.
