Talk:High-level emulation

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I saw the attention and context tags on this article. I'll try to shore up this article a little bit as a stand-alone article, and then do some research where it best fits in the overall structure of emulation, video game emulation, and virtual machine articles. /* Pradeep Arya 07:39, 2 January 2006 (UTC) */

Wow. That was stupid. I rewrote the whole article only to find a more accurate subsection in the UltraHLE article. Note to self: Research first, Write second. Okay, I'm going to turn this into a redirect to UltraHLE now. /* Pradeep Arya 09:56, 2 January 2006 (UTC) */

On second thought, that article isn't more accurate. It is what popularized high-level emulation, but it doesn't accurately represent what high-level emulation is. The technique is described on the UltraHLE page, but only in the very specific context of UltraHLE. High-level emulation arguably began with the Church-Turing thesis. I'm going to leave the article for now. Suggested improvments include: High-level emulation design techniques and practices, and more contextual discussion about emulation, virtual machines, and the like. /* Pradeep Arya 10:06, 2 January 2006 (UTC) */
