There are various Highways and Routes in the Dominican Republic. They are listed here.

In the past decades the Dominican Republic has undergone a reconstruction of numerous highway systems and bridges throughout the country. As of 2006 the Dominican Republic numbers its highway system from 1 to 5. These five highways are the major ones and they are in good condition. Autopista Del Este, Autopista Duarte, Autopista Del Sur are the most common names for DR-3,DR-1,DR-2 respectively.

Like any underdeveloped nation, the Dominican Republic suffers from a lack of good paved routes to connect smaller towns and less populated areas. Some of them are in bad condition or are completely unpaved. Major town routes however are in good condition.
