Highway Landscaping in New Zealand is primarily the responsibility of Transit New Zealand (www.transit.govt.nz).

Transit New Zealand (Transit) is the Crown Entity responsible for state highways - the strategic roads and motorways that are about 12% (10,894 km) of all New Zealand's roads, but account for about half of the 36 billion vehicle kilometres travelled every year.

Transit's annual budget is over $1 billion and employs about 350 staff. Rick van Barneveld is the current Chief Executive.
