Highway 18A is a decommissioned highway now known as Essex county road 50. It was originally designated as Highway 18A to serve the southernmost parts of Essex County. It was the southernmost provincial highway in all of Canada while in service.
The road is a spur route that heads south from Highway 18 (Now Essex CR 20), and is mainly a beach resort road. It is very narrow, but luckily not that busy. Caution should be taken, however, due to very close structures, buildings, poles, and occasional sharp curves, as well as for pedestrians in the nearby cottages.
