Highlands Latin School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Highlands Latin School is a Classical Christian private school in Louisville, Kentucky.

Highlands Latin is a Classical Christian school for students K-12. Their goal is to provide a classical education comparable to the high standards set by educators of the past. They strive to create an academic community of teachers and learners characterized by the highest expectations in scholarship and Christian character.

Cheryl Lowe founded Highlands Latin School after decades of work in education. Her approach has proven that a focus on an academic school culture, within a classical Christian setting, leads to impressive results. In only five years, HLS has grown from an enrollment of 50 to over 240, is ranked in the top 1% in the nation on the ITBS for K-8, and most impressive of all, has reported the highest average SAT scores in Louisville according to Business First Magazine's 2006 annual list of private schools. [1]

Though, the only reason why their statistics are so high is because of the number of students who take the actual SAT. Say 10 straight A students take the SAT and all do wonderful. Their overall average would be a lot higher than say 100 average students at a larger school.
