High Society was Bing Crosby's fourth long play album, but his first recorded with Capitol Records. It was the soundtrack for the feature film High Society, also released in 1956.
Bing's exclusive recording contract for Decca expired at the end of 1955 and Bing chose to freelance.
After his recording of True Love with Grace Kelly went gold, Bing Crosby joked that it was the only gold record to feature a real-life princess.
All music and lyrics are written by Cole Porter
