HighTone Records

HighTone Records is an independent record label based in Oakland, California. Hightone specializes in American roots music including, country, rockabilly, western swing, blues and gospel. The label is owned by Larry Sloven and Bruce Bromberg. The label's first release in 1983 was the album, Bad Influence by bluesman Robert Cray.[1]

In September of 2006 the label released a 5 CD boxed set compiling many of the labels's most influential recordings.[2]
