Hickory Records
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hickory Records was a United States record label run by Acuff-Rose Music from the mid-1950s to the late 1970s. Based in Nashville, it was an independent label throughout its entire run, but went through several distributors. From its inception in 1955 to 1973, Hickory was distributed independently. MGM then distributed the label in 1973, then ABC distributed it four years later. The Hickory label was discontinued and its catalog pulled before ABC merged with MCA in 1979. The entire Hickory output is now owned by Gaylord Broadcasting.
