Hickory High School (Virginia)

Hickory High School is a high school in the outskirts of the Great Bridge area of Chesapeake, Virginia. There are approximately 2,600 students. The school's mascot is a hawk and the school colors are black, white, and teal.
Due to the overwhelming amount of students, a new school, Grassfield High, is being built nearby.
Hickory High School was the high school for the MLB All-Star David Wright.
In early December of 2006, an outbreak of whooping cough in the school made it to local news. Each student was given a letter to inform their parents. The infected student came into contact with many of his/her peers within the period of being infected, these students were given an additional letter in which they were to give to their parents. [1]
