Hibbing Community College

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hibbing Community College is a Community College located in Hibbing, Minnesota. It was founded in 1918 and has undergone several transformations. Originally in the High School, it eventually was moved into its own campus as the Hibbing Area Vocational Technical Institute.

Hibbing Technical College also was created to serve the Hibbing area. In the 1990's the two schools merged to form Hibbing Community College, and consisted of three campuses until 2000 when a new building integration project was completed and the entire school was again housed at one location.

Hibbing Community College now exists within the North East Higher Education district which includes several area colleges, and that is within the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) system.

The school's provost is Kenneth Simberg.
