"Hey Mister Heartache" is the first single from Close, the 1988 album by British singer Kim Wilde. It marked the beginning of a very successful year for the star during which she would have a best-selling album, several more successful singles and support Michael Jackson on the European leg of his tour. The original version of "Hey Mister Heartache" featured vocals by Junior Giscombe (with whom Wilde had previously duetted on a hit the previous year). However this part of the song was edited out for the single version. The song was also extended for the 12" and CD-single formats, and a second 12" featuring a remix by Kilowatt was also released in the UK.
