Talk:Hexstatic

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Do a search for vj and you get someone who is editing all the other stuff about vj's saying that it's definition is of a MTV presenter, i don't agree i wondered if you could join the discussion, search vj.

Yes you are correct, the MTV VJ is referring to a very different thing than a group like Hexstatic. However, I do believe it is a correct usage of the term. In the article I have linked directly to the VJ (Video performance artist) page which is probably what you are looking for. Since VJ can also refer to Victory over Japan Day, perhaps it would be best if a search for VJ loaded the VJ (disambiguation) page first. --Jeowens 14:22, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Improving the article

I am editing this page as part of my final project for Music E-145, a history and aesthetics of electronic music, at Harvard Extension School (Spring 2006). (Check out User:Electroclass and our class blog for more info). Please feel free to help out or just let me know what I can do to improve this page. Thanks. --Jeowens 03:23, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

I think it's worth talking about the band's penchant for old technology (particularly 70s-80s) as well as the new. The Speak & Spell (game) on the cover of Listen & Learn, the old computer on Rewind, the View-Master on Master View, plus of course the samples, computerised vocals and tracks like Telemetron and Bass Invader, the use of a Atari 2600 and a Casio V-L Tone on L-Virata etc. Gram 09:36, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. Hope I didn't plagarize you too bad, but you pretty much did my job for me.--Jeowens 21:04, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

No probs, glad to see someone working on the article. I've changed "old computer" to "Sinclair ZX80 home computer for the Rewind cover. Gram 09:04, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] upcoming events

Having an upcoming events section is a bit unencyclopediac IMHO. That is more the realm of the official website than an encyclopedia. And does anyone have the Exactshit CD/DVD? If so, could you put it onto a website and give me the link? I am DYING to get hold of it, but as far as I know, none are in my country at all. --Midnighttonight 10:09, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Yeah I wasn't sure if I should have added the events section, but I decided to err on the side of too much info rather than too little since my grade for class was involved. I know this type of info wouldn’t be included in a traditional encyclopedia, but since the wiki can be updated regularly I think it might be useful to have a list of future performances, as long as it is not done in a salacious manner. --Jeowens 03:59, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
