Hexylresorcinol is a chemical compound with anaesthetic, antiseptic and antihelmintic properties.
It can be used topically on small skin infections, or as an ingredient in throat lozenges. In vitro studies conducted in January 2007 have shown that it has the same lightening effect as 2% hydroquinone over an 8 week period.
