Hesher
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Suggested disambiguation: "Hesher" is also a slang term for a person, generally denoting a personal style associated with 1980's heavy metal fandom but carried into the present with ignorance or disregard for changing fashions. Possible origin: a portmanteau of "he", "she", and "her", commenting on the hesher's long hair. When used in skateboarding culture, the term sometimes indicates a grudging respect for someone's disregard for consequences, possibly analogized from the hesher's apparent disregard for his or her (usually his) appearance, reputation and often hygiene. Hesher is an EP and the first release by Canadian rock band Nickelback.
All songs were written and performed by Nickelback. It was released in February 1996. Supposedly, the name came from the band's response when asked whether they wanted to record a demo, to which they said, "hey, sure."
