The Herzogstand Aerial Tramway was built in 1994 as replacement for a 1,388.35 m (4,500 feet) chairlift through the Bavarian alps. It has two cabs of the Walchensee (800 m ueNN) on the driving mountain (1600 m ueNN). The course uses a 43mm (1.7 inches) carrying rope and a hauling cable 21 mm (0.8 inches) in diameter. The drive takes place with a 185 kilowatt strong engine. The course has two supports, which are 28m (91 feet) and 24 m (78 feet) high. The travel time of the course, which has a top speed of 8 m/s (18 mph), is four minutes.
