Hermannsburg

Hermannsburg is a town in the Celle district of the German state of Lower Saxony.
It has 8500 inhabitants. It is located about 15 km east of Bergen and 30 km north of Celle at the River Örtze.
Hermannsburg was founded by Hermann Billung, after whom it has been named. Pastor Louis (also: Ludwig) Harms founded the Hermannsburger Mission here, which is still active today in countries overseas.
Besides the main town exist the districts Baven, Beckedorf, Bonstorf, Oldendorf and Weesen.
