Hermann Zumpe

Hermann Zumpe (born 9 April, 1850 in Oppach, died 4 September, 1903 in Munich) was a German conductor.
After working in Stuttgart he became the conductor of the Kaim Orchestra (now the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra). In 1897 he moved to Schwerin where he led the local Hofkappelle orchestra to international prominence. In 1901 he returned to Munich to take over the Bavarian State Opera, where he led many performances of Wagner's operas.
