Here Comes The Indian is the fifth album by New York-based band Animal Collective, released on June 17, 2003. According to members of the Collective, the album was made in a time in which their relationships with each other as individuals were complicated, and they have called this the record on which they all "rock out". This was also the first album to bear the name Animal Collective; before Indian, the band credited themselves according to who played on each album, or, in the case of Campfire Songs, the album's specific concept. The use of vocoders and other effects on their instruments is prominent.
