Herburger publications

Herburger Publications, Incorporated is a newspaper company, with various offices located in Galt, Elk Grove, Rancho Murieta and Rancho Cordova, California. The company was founded in 1959 with the purchase of the Elk Grove Citizen and The Galt Herald by Roy and Mary Herburger, previously of Rio Vista. The two continue to be active in the running of the various newspapers, with their son, David Herburger now running the day to day operations of the company.
Newspapers owned by the Herburger family include: The Elk Grove Citizen, The Laguna Citizen, The River Valley Times, The Galt Herald, and the Rancho Cordova Grapevine Independent.
The company is headquartered in Galt, California with Administration, The Galt Herald editorial staff, and Production staff located in a building built in 1978 upon the founding of the Corporation, Herburger Publications, Inc.
Various other offices include the Elk Grove office, which houses Elk Grove/Laguna Citizen editorial staff, Rancho Murieta for the River Valley Times editorial staff, and an office in Rancho Cordova for the Grapevine Independent.
The company, along with the production of their newspapers, also prints and publishes over 100 newspapers.
Current family memebers involved are: Roy Herburger, President and CEO; David Herburger, Publisher and General Manager; Mary Lewis (formerly, Mary Herburger), Elk Grove Citizen Society editor.
The company is heavily invovled in the CNPA, The California Newspaper Publisher's Association (Roy Herburger served as President in 1996 and David Herburger is currently on the Board of Directors); The California Publisher's Association; Rotary Clubs of Galt and Elk Grove, as well as the Chamber of Commerce in both Galt and Elk Grove.
