Herbert Nachbar

Herbert Nachbar (12 February 1930–25 May 1980) was a German writer resident in the GDR.
Herbert Nachbar was born as the son of a fisherman in Greifswald, formerly in the GDR, now in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in Germany. From 1950 till 1957 he studied medicine in East Berlin. His first novel "Der Mond hat einen Hof" was awarded the Heinrich-Mann-Preis 1957. He died in East Berlin in 1980.
