Herbert Joseph Drury (b. March 2, 1895 in Midland, Ontario, Canada - d. July 1, 1965 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) was a Canadian Professional Hockey Defenceman who played 6 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Quakers. Drury died in 1965 and is interred at Calvary Cemetery.
[edit] Playing Career
Drury joined Pittsburgh of the USAHA in 1916. In 1918-19 he was called by the military service and didn't return to hockey until 1921. He continued playing in the USAHA until 1925 when he signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Pirates (NHL). He played with the Pirates for 5 seasons, followed by one with the Philadelphia Quakers (NHL).

Although Canadian born, Herb Drury was best known for being a member of the U.S. Olympic team that played in the first Winter Games at Chamonix, France in 1924. Drury recorded an astounding 22 goals along with 3 assists, for a total of 25 points in the tournament. After defeating team Sweden 20-0, the U.S. settled for the silver medal following a 6-1 defeat to Canada. Drury scored the lone American goal during the Gold medal game.

- Following his retirement from professional hockey Drury became a steamfitter in Pittsburgh.
