Herbert Breslin is a music industry executive. He has been influential in the careers of several musicians since the 1960s, the foremost of these being the tenor, Luciano Pavarotti, with whom he started his career.

The two were introduced to each other at the very beginning of Pavarotti's career, when the tenor was hardly heard of in the world of opera and Breslin, almost unknown in his field. Together, they built up each others' careers, each becoming a leader in his field.
Apart from Pavarotti, his firm has also represented Plácido Domingo, Alicia de Larrocha and many others. He started his career as a publicist and initially worked for both Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti at the same time. When he decided to become an artist's manager, he had to make a choice between the two and chose Pavarotti.
In 2002 Pavarotti split with his manager of 36 years. The break up was followed in 2004 with the publication of a book by Breslin (and Anne Midgette) entitled 'The King & I', seen by many as largely critical and sensationalist, of the singers acting (in opera), his ability to read music and learn parts, and of his personal conduct, although acknowledging their mutual success. Despite the differences leading to the split, Breslin does acknowledge that Pavarotti has an outstanding voice and has had a magnificent career on the whole.
