The full 'money' quote is more a jab at journos than at diplos: "An ambassador is a man of virtue sent to lie abroad for the commonwealth; a newswriter is a man without virtue who lies at home for himself." -- published in Reliquiae Wottonianae, or, A collection of lives, letters, poems, with characters of sundry personages: and other incomparable pieces of language and art also additional letters to several persons, not before printed, by Henry Wotton, 1651.
