Talk:Henry Singleton

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Obviously, Henry Singleton did not invent the gyroscope. As for degaussing to avoid submarine detection, I have strong doubts that it was effective or even feasible. This article looks like corporate publicity. - Xis 07:16, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

I agree, he didn't invent the idea. It should probably read he was the first to apply it to a specifc field. As for degaussing, you really need to put forth more information than just strong doubts.

Au contraire, the *article* should put forth more information, if it is at all true. Degaussing a vessel was a procedure to avoid magnetic mines, not detection (see Second_Battle_of_the_Atlantic#The_mining_threat). Still, the article keeps getting worst and worst. --Xis 13:20, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
